Starlike EVO Grout Installation Instructions

Overview

Starlike EVO Grout is a high-performance two-part epoxy grout formulated for excellent chemical resistance, color stability, and a smooth, easy-to-clean finish. Ideal for glass, porcelain, stone, metal tiles, and high-traffic or wet environments.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Surface Preparation

1. Ensure tile adhesive/setting material is fully cured before grouting.
2. Joints must be clean, dry, and free of dust, debris, or adhesive residue.
3. Maintain a consistent ambient and substrate temperature between 65°F and 85°F (18°C–29°C) during installation and curing.
4. Protect adjacent surfaces with masking tape as needed.

2. Mixing Starlike EVO Grout

1. Each kit contains Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener).
2. Pour the entirety of Part B into the Part A container.
3. Mix using a slow-speed drill (approx. 300–400 RPM) with a paddle until uniform—no streaks or lumps.
4. For partial mixes, keep the exact 1:1 ratio by weight.
5. Mixed pot life: use within approximately 60–80 minutes (varies with temperature).

3. Application

1. Apply the mixed grout diagonally across joints with a rubber grout float.
2. Press firmly to fully fill joints and remove trapped air.
3. Remove excess grout by holding the float at a 90° angle to the tile surface.
4. Work in small sections (approx. 10–15 sq ft / 0.9–1.4 m²) to allow timely cleaning before the grout sets.

4. Cleaning & Finishing

1. Begin initial cleaning after ~15–20 minutes, depending on ambient temperature.
2. Use a damp sponge or white non-abrasive scrub pad and circular motions to emulsify surface residue; rinse sponge frequently.
3. Perform a final wipe with a damp microfiber cloth to remove any remaining haze.
4. Avoid using excessive water during cleaning—too much water can affect finish and color consistency.

5. Curing & Protection

1. Allow at least 24 hours before light foot traffic.
2. Wait 5–7 days before exposing the installation to full chemical exposure or continuous water immersion (showers, pools, spas).
3. Keep the installation protected from dust, moisture, and direct sunlight while curing.

Tips for Best Results

• Use Starlike EVO Grout Cleaner (or manufacturer-recommended cleaner) for final haze removal after 24 hours.
• For wide joints or uneven tiles, apply a slightly greater volume of grout to avoid air pockets.
• Always use clean tools and containers—contaminants can alter color and performance.
• Do not mix more material than can be applied within the product’s pot life.

Safety & Storage

Storage

• Store unopened containers in a cool, dry place between 40°F–90°F (4°C–32°C).
• Shelf life (unopened): 24 months.

Product performance depends on proper substrate preparation, correct mixing ratio, ambient conditions, and following manufacturer instructions. When in doubt, perform a small mock-up area to confirm color and finish before grouting the entire job.
